BURKE'S OUTLET OPENS IN SHOPPES AT BOAZ, BOAZ, AL

Burke's Outlet opened in Shoppes at Boaz September 23, 2010.  The Shoppes are at Boaz is an 84,847 sf retail center, anchored by Burkes Outlet, Fred's and Tractor Supply. The center is well positioned at the intersection of Hwy. 431 and Butler Ave., directly across from Wal-Mart Supercenter.  Burke's presented a new prototype; "a nice, very clean, bright-looking ambience." said Jim Simpson, vice president of real estate for the company. Burke's Outlet stores offer brand-name apparel and accessories for the entire family at up to 70 percent off department store prices, offering shoes, home furnishings, gifts and toys. "There'll be a pretty terrific assortment of merchandise for the customers," Simpson said. "When they come in, I think they'll be very pleased."  Burke's is based in Bradenton, Fla., and operates more than 440 stores in 16 states. Burke's Outlet operates 34 store locations in Alabama, including Gadsden and Scottsboro. The news excited Boaz Mayor Tim Walker, "things are looking up for the economy of Boaz."
